Santiago / Medium

Our Rival 22 Grand Tourer build is specifically designed for high-mileage cycle touring straight out of the box. Specced with everything you need to for a two-wheeled world tour including: Brooks saddle, bottle cages, mudguards and a pannier rack.

At a glance

  • Shimano Tiagra 10-speed groupset
  • Santiago Steel fork
  • Sonder Alpha EX UK Made wheelset
  • Reynolds 631 steel frame

Santiago knows its heritage; cold-worked, air hardened steel (100% recycled) is steeped in the history of long distance riding. But with bang up-to-date geometry, Santiago has a refreshing feel that you know will be good for years to come: 450 mm chainstays, 1.1 m wheelbase, 71 degree head angle, a fork rake of 55 and generous tyre clearance. This makes for a truly comfortable, fast, assured bike, both in its own right (audax slaying, winter riding) or when racked up for multi-month adventures.

Tiagra

If you’re touring fully-loaded, you’re going to want the FSA super compact 48/32 chainset with an 11 – 32 cassette at the back. With big wide gear ratios (ranging from 0.89:1 to 4.36:1) it’ll get you up Winnat’s Pass fully-loaded without taking too much off your top speed, so you’ll still be spinning it out at 30 mph pretty comfortably.
